Thyroplasty surgery can be performed under local anesthesia, allowing for voice adjustment during the procedure. One of the advantages is the short recovery time of just a few days, as it does not directly injure the vocal cords. For patients with adductor-type spasmodic dysphonia, a particularly difficult condition to treat, we perform a unique type II thyroplasty using a patented titanium bridge developed at our clinic. Additionally, for trans female or women with an overly low-pitched voice, we offer type IV thyroplasty, allowing for voice pitch adjustment during the surgery, as well as glottoplasty performed under general anesthesia. Conversely, for trans male or men with an overly high-pitched voice or those with puberphonia, type III thyroplasty is effective. All of these procedures require specialized expertise.
